Make QB Portable Copy

In QuickBooks Desktop the option to create a portable copy allows an organization to send a file with all the data that doesn't include all the forms and accessories of a full backup so the file size is more manageable.

To create a portable copy you must be logged into the QuickBooks file as the Administrator and be in single user

In the QB desktop file, go to File:Back Up Company: Create Copy

In popup screen select "Portable Company File."

In the next screen, browse to the file location where you want to save the file.  It is recommended to save it to a location that is easy to navigate to such as your Desktop or Documents folder.

When you are happy with the file location, click OK.
